Follow Toyota torque specs

Some 2015-2018 Toyota vehicles may exhibit brake vibration due to improper lug nut torque.

A reminder: Some 2015-2018 Toyota vehicles may exhibit brake vibration due to improper lug nut torque. Brake vibration can occur any time if improper torque is applied to lug nuts. Even one lug nut over or under torque can cause vibration.

Always refer to the TIS applicable model year repair manual to obtain the proper torque value. This is basic, but often overlooked. Lug nuts should be tightened by using either a calibrated torque wrench, or at least by using a torque stick.

And pay attention to tightening sequence. Follow the tightening sequence shown in the accompanying illustration. Seasoned technicians are already aware of the importance, but some new technicians may tend to overlook this procedure. Brake-applied vibration can easily occur if improper torque value and sequence are not followed.
