MetLife Auto & Home encourages CARE network to achieve Gold Class

May 30, 2014
In support of its commitment to excellence and consumer safety, MetLife Auto & Home is encouraging all of its MetLife Auto & Home Concierge Auto Repair ExperienceSM ("CARE") network repair shops, to achieve Gold Class, the industry standard for training that contributes to complete, safe and quality repairs.

Vehicle materials like aluminum and high-strength steel are driving major changes in vehicle construction as manufacturers strive to meet the federal government’s fuel-economy standards. These changes impact the way vehicles should be repaired, which makes training more relevant to repairers than ever before.

“I-CAR applauds MetLife Auto & Home for encouraging its CARE shops to achieve Gold Class. And we also commend MetLife Auto & Home for its ongoing commitment to being a Gold Class insurer, which through high levels of technical training, equips the MetLife Auto & Home appraiser team to be effective and productive,” said John Van Alstyne, I-CAR CEO and president. “As the collision repair industry prepares for a tsunami of new vehicles, technologies and materials in the coming years, only businesses that truly build and nurture a ‘Learning Culture’ will be properly prepared to perform complete, safe, and quality repairs in a sustainable manner.”

MetLife Auto & Home recently earned Gold Class status at the corporate level, a reflection of the organization’s companywide commitment to ongoing training of its insurance appraiser staff through training with I-CAR's Professional Development Program.

Gold Class recognition is the collision industry standard for knowledge and training. When a business achieves Gold Class, it has demonstrated its commitment to ongoing training, which supports collision repair professionals in achieving complete, safe, and quality repairs for the ultimate benefit of the customer.

“MetLife Auto & Home has a strong commitment to excellent service, and training to Gold Class goes hand-in-hand with the company’s values. CARE shops will be equipped with knowledge that can sharpen their skills and help them keep pace with our evolving industry and the future of vehicle technology,” said Van Alstyne.
