Redline Detection, a provider of OEM-approved and OEM-mandated diagnostic leak detection equipment, today announced its collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover Limited (JLR) to bring to market new globally mandated technology for JLR’s 3,056 service locations in 112 countries.
The new technology will provide quick diagnostic ability for boosted engines, both turbocharged and supercharged, in JLR 2015 and 2016 models, enhancing customer service, improving air quality and increasing fuel economy. During its two-year field test with JLR, the JLR High-Pressure Diagnostic Leak Detector proved to be 100 percent accurate in diagnosing boosted vehicles, saving valuable time and enhancing JLR’s world-class ‘fix it right the first time’ customer service environment.
“JLR is at the forefront of improving the customer driver experience. This Redline technology will allow us to extend that world-class customer experience from the day the vehicle is delivered, throughout the maintenance life of the vehicle” said Alex O’Neill of Jaguar Land Rover Limited. “Redline is the world’s leader in high pressure diagnostic leak detection.”
“Jaguar Land Rover is an excellent example of a progressive OEM recognizing the many benefits of a globally mandated program utilizing Redline’s expertise,” said Alex Parker, executive vice president of Redline Detection. “With one machine, JLR is effectively distributing new technology along with the standardized procedures to immediately implement it to service centers worldwide. JLR is reducing diagnostic time to give their customers world-class service while further enhancing their impressive customer satisfaction ratings.”
The new JLR High-Pressure Diagnostic Leak Detector replicates the boost load of a turbocharged or supercharged engine so the sealed integrity of the entire system can be tested with the engine safely off. This groundbreaking technology delivers 40 timesthe pressure and many times the volume of a traditional EVAP smoke machine.
“As the world’s leading OEMs increasingly use forced-induction, turbocharged systems to provide consumers with improved fuel economy without sacrificing performance, technicians are in need of diagnostic equipment to quickly and safely test these vehicles,” added Parker. “This is the only technology available that can deliver variable pressure, high-density vapor that is 100 percent free of dyes and other contaminants, through the 20-psi range. We are, needless to say, honored to partner with Jaguar Land Rover.”
