Peterbilt's SmartLINQ in production, system complemented with new mobile app

July 16, 2015

Peterbilt’s innovative SmartLINQ technology – a factory-installed, fully integrated remote diagnostics system standard on all trucks equipped with a PACCAR MX-13 engine – is now in production and providing customers with even greater uptime and fleet management convenience.

Introduced in March, the SmartLINQ remote diagnostics system provides customers with real-time, at-a-glance fleet health to maximize uptime, keep deliveries on schedule and manage service events.

“SmartLINQ gives customers the tools they need for greater profitability, efficiency and productivity,” says Robert Woodall, Peterbilt Assistant General Manager of Sales and Marketing. “Our extensive pilot testing of this time and money saving technology proves SmartLINQ provides customers with greater uptime and a new level of vehicle supervision and management. In addition, we are enhancing customer convenience with an exclusive new smartphone and tablet SmartLINQ app for both Android and iOS platforms.”

The SmartLINQ app is a free download through the Apple iTunes store and the Android storefront. It is available now for Apple mobile devices and later this month for Android devices.

Woodall added that trucks equipped with SmartLINQ, which includes a complimentary two-year subscription to the service, are fully supported by Peterbilt dealers. The new, exclusive Peterbilt mobile app gives fleet managers and truck owners full access to the SmartLINQ portal, providing one-touch access to fleet health and the tools to schedule maintenance throughout Peterbilt’s North American dealer network.

With SmartLINQ, customers can choose to have the system communicate with Peterbilt dealerships should a vehicle need quick attention. The dealership can be notified of the vehicle’s arrival, and have a service bay, technician and parts at the ready.

“SmartLINQ strengthens the connection between our customers and dealers,” said Woodall. “Remote diagnostics technology provides customers with maximum uptime.”
