Noregon announces JPRO Pro update, Vehicle Insights Portal

The new portal offers users an interactive online experience with access to same-day or historical data from their vehicles.

Noregon released two product announcements. The company announced the third major update of 2018 for their in-shop diagnostic and repair solution, JPRO Professional. Additionally, Noregon revealed details of a new SaaS application, their Vehicle Insights Portal (VIP).

JPRO Professional 2018 v3 builds upon the software’s list of bi-directional tests for medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Bi-directional functionality was expanded across most major engine manufacturers, in addition to the introduction of tests to improve evaluation of braking systems.

“JPRO is made by technicians, for technicians,” said Jason Hedman, JPRO product manager. “My staff and I address real-world issues by adding features to JPRO that make the technician’s job easier. For example, we understand the difficulties faced when trying to diagnose communication issues, so for this release we added functionality that allows JPRO to display CAN error frame data, which helps the tech locate the source of the issue.”

The company noted that all active JPRO Professional subscribers are eligible to update to the latest software at no charge. “The ever-evolving world of commercial trucking requires a tool capable of keeping pace with the vast changes in the industry,” said John Harrison, VP of sales at Noregon. “When customers subscribe to JPRO, they have peace of mind knowing that we will continuously add the features and coverage needed to perform their jobs in an efficient manner regardless of the age, brand or make of the vehicle.”

Following the release of JPRO Professional 2018 v3 in early November, JPRO subscribers with an active internet connection will receive a prompt in the software to update. Users can also manually update the software via a download link on the company website.

Detailing the new portal, Noregon explained that VIP Services offer users an interactive online experience with access to same-day or historical data from their vehicles. With built-in configurable reports and the ability to export data to populate additional back-office systems, users gain visibility into metrics that improve operational and maintenance decision-making within their organization. Built-in reports give users insights into fuel economy, parameter information such as idle metrics and max road and cruise speed settings, JPRO fault information including total scans, fault data and common/recurring faults.

Noregon’s VIP services build upon their existing Data Analytics offerings.

“As the vehicle data experts, we recognize the value in basing decisions off learnings from key data points," Harrison said. "Utilizing the new portal, our customers have around-the-clock access to metrics that guide decisions that impact maintenance, performance, and cost of vehicle ownership.”
