At CES 2023, Michelin and ProovStation unveiled TireStation, an automated tire inspection solution for professionals.
"Today, automotive players have to adapt to the challenges linked to a changing consumer behavior and the emergence of electric vehicles, which will have a huge impact on future workshop traffic," said Cédric Bernard, CEO of ProovStation. "The objective of this digitalization is to optimize each after-sales entry by offering the right service, at the right time and at the right price, while improving the customer experience and satisfaction. TireStation's joint innovation provides a true solution for our customers to achieve this goal."
How does it work?
The vehicle is driven through a scanning and photographic system that provides key information:
- The automatic and magnetic measurement of the tread depth of the tires.
- The dimensions and brands of the tires.
- The vehicle's registration number.
Based on the data collected and powerful algorithms, an instant report is generated to show the tire wear and potential geometry vehicle issues which can be used afterwards by the receptionist to suggest or anticipate any tire operation, replacing or rotating tires or even even adjusting alignment.
Why TireStation?
- Currently, the only solution on the market based on magnetic technology.
- Quick and easy installation, no civil engineering required.
- A universal solution compatible with all types and brands of vehicles and tires.
- Reliable results, regardless of the neatness of tires and slabs.
- Accurate and efficient solution, regardless of the complexity of the tire tread.
- Simple and intuitive to use.
With TireStation's integrated magnetic tire scanner, automatic and instantaneous tire control with millimeter precision is now possible, in less than 5 seconds, claims both companies.
"In the future, tire inspection will be mostly digital and automated," said Sébastien Masseret, Business Manager at Michelin. "TireStation is proof of a fruitful and complementary mix of expertise between MICHELIN and ProovStation."
