If a front halfshaft boot is found to be leaking due to fatigue, replace the halfshaft with the updated part. Previous versions of the front halfshaft boots can leak from fatigue due to pursuit vehicle duty cycles being outside the optimal travel limits for boot fatigue life.

The new boot design accommodates additional travel associated with pursuit (police) vehicle duty cycles. The updated halfshafts are available as 68545640AA (right front) and 68545641AA (left front).
