This bulletin applies to 2018-2019 Mazda6 vehicles made in the U.S. and produced before March 4, 2019, and 2018-2019 CX-5 vehicles built before Feb. 8, 2019.
Some customers may experience a check engine light. DTC P2096:00 may be stored in the PCM (air fuel too lean). Note that this concern occurs only on vehicles with PCMs made by Mitsubishi.
Due to improper control logic of the PCM, a false error may be detected. To eliminate this concern, the PCM software has been modified.
Reboot the IDS to clear memory before programming.
Using the latest IDS software, reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration. Clear all DTCs, start the engine and confirm that no warning lights are on. Record the customer’s radio presets.
Shut the engine off and disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least 30 seconds to reset the fuel control learning data. Re-connect the battery. Re-enter the radio presets.
