Verifying Mitsubishi countermeasure parts

This bulletin applies to 2019-2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport/RVR with AB11/4B12 engine; 2019-2020 Outlander with 4J12 engine; 2021-2022 Outlander Plug-in hybrid with 4B12 engine; and 2019-2022 Eclipse Cross vehicles with 4B40 engine.

This bulletin applies to 2019-2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport/RVR with AB11/4B12 engine; 2019-2020 Outlander with 4J12 engine; 2021-2022 Outlander Plug-in hybrid with 4B12 engine; and 2019-2022 Eclipse Cross vehicles with 4B40 engine.

Customers may note that the MIL is on, The engine may experience a loss of power due to being in fail-safe mode. Unstable idling due to poor contact of the ignition coil terminal and DTC P030X may create the concern. Replace the ignition coils of all cylinders with countermeasure parts.

Verify that the parts being used for replacement are countermeasure parts. There are two ways to verify:

1. The genuine part label for the countermeasure parts will have a total of three digits and the third one will be a “T”.

2. Please note that the countermeasure parts featured the T until March 2022.

3. After April 2022, the countermeasure parts will no longer have the T on the parts label and returned to two digits.
