Application

When a component, like a blower motor, won’t power up, the following typically happens: the supply voltage is measured, 12V is seen, and an assumption is made that the blower motor is bad. But if the wiring is bad and the shop orders a new part, that new part won’t work either. Connecting LOADpro at the component's 12V connector and pressing the button will give you the answer. If the voltage drops, you don’t order that new part because it’s a wiring fault instead. This product and its built-in voltage drop test prevent part-swapping episodes and save time.

Selling points

  • LOADpro test leads are OEM-approved for several manufacturers due to their ability to find wiring faults quickly and non-intrusively.
  • This version of LOADpro includes the test leads and a volt meter, so your customer doesn’t need to own a digital multimeter. It’s complete and ready to go.
  • When one tech in the shop uses this tool and begins to see how effective it works, others in the shop will get on board too.
  • You don’t have to be an expert to sell this tool. There are several helpful YouTube videos that support the product on our website product page.

Features and benefits

  • This product finds wiring faults and does it quickly. Many wiring/connector faults are the result of corrosion, which is a form of resistance. Press the button and current will flow. If there is corrosion or bad grounds, the voltage will drop and you'll know wiring is the issue. It’s fast.
  • LOADpro Test Leads feature SteadyPin Probe Tips. Instead of a pointed probe, SteadyPin tips have a small recess at the tip that allows the probe to sit firmly on a male ECM or connector pin.

Origin

Voltage drop is the simplest way to find wiring faults. If a circuit is loaded and there is resistance in the form of corrosion or bad grounds, the voltage will drop. If the voltage doesn’t drop, the circuit is good. This test determines if the problem is with the car part or the wiring, and it does it in just a few seconds. This tool and a volt meter or digital multimeter are all you need, and doing voltage drops will make your customer a better tech.
