The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF), announced that Kathleen Schmatz, President and CEO of AAIA, has been elected by the NASTF Board of Directors to fill a currently vacant director seat on the NASTF Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Schmatz was welcomed to the board by Skip Potter, Executive Director of NASTF who noted “The addition of AAIA to NASTF’s base of committed supporters is an exciting opportunity for our entire industry.”
“Ensuring affordable and effective access to the service information, software and sophisticated tools needed to work on late model computer-controlled vehicles has always been a major goal of AAIA and we see NASTF as playing a key role in working toward achieving that goal,” Schmatz said. “I am pleased to join the leadership of NASTF and to work with other board members toward growing the effectiveness of the organization in resolving vehicle service issues; and to help build industry awareness support of the organization by the independent vehicle service industry.
“NASTF has made significant progress in addressing service issues over the past decade by bringing together service industry professionals and OEM service professionals,” Potter said.
NASTF was established in 2000 to identify, communicate and resolve gaps in the availability and accessibility of automotive service information, service training, diagnostic tools, and equipment for the benefit of automotive service professionals and their customers. NASTF was incorporated in 2006 as a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization. Additional details can be found at www.nastf.org.
