Owners of 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD/3500HD trucks may comment that increased lash can be felt in the steering.

No road wheel motion may be observed with small steering wheel motion, usually observed during steering reversals over the center.

This condition may be caused by surface wear of the recirculating ball steering gear internal rack piston nut due to incorrect surface hardness. If the steering gear has been found as the cause of the steering lash, replace the steering gear assembly.
