For the first time, attendees at AAPEX 2022 will have access to training by the Automatic Transmission Service Group (ATSG), an industry leading authority on transmission technical support and repair. AAPEX 2022 will take place Tuesday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Nov. 3, at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas.

On Nov. 1, Wayne Colonna, ATSG president/ETE REMAN director of quality, will present, “Is It the transmission or not?” The four-hour presentation will cover transmission malfunctions and perceived malfunctions caused by “out-of-the-box” system failures. The information will be presented in ATSG’s detailed "Complaint, cause and correction" format, covering both passenger cars and medium duty trucks. Diagnostic tips and tricks will be included, as well as pertinent information on various CVT and DCT transmissions needed for proper diagnostics.

On Nov. 2, Rino Partipilo, ATSG technical advisor, will present the “Best of ATSG’s 2022 confirmed transmission fixes,” a four-hour presentation on various vehicles experiencing problems originating from issues within the transmission and how to diagnose them. These transmissions were experiencing symptoms that stumped professional technicians, so they turned to ATSG’s technical hotline for assistance. Partipilo will share the most recently learned confirmed fixes that were gathered by being on the front line of the ATSG technical hotline.

Both presentations will take place from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on their respective days in the new Transmission Supplier Section, Level 1, The Venetian Expo. Attendees already registered for AAPEX may add these training sessions by accessing their online registration portal. New registrations may select the ATSG training sessions when completing the registration process. The cost per session is $125.

In addition to training, the Transmission Supplier Section will be a dedicated space for the nearly 5,500 transmission shops in the United States. It will feature aftermarket parts for automatic and manual transmissions, transfer cases, parts, and related components.

AAPEX represents the more than $1.6 trillion global automotive aftermarket industry and historically features 2,500 exhibiting companies that display innovative products, services and technologies that keep the world’s 1.3 billion vehicles on the road. AAPEX also provides advanced technical and business management training for professionals to maintain excellence and take their businesses to the next level. Industry buyers include automotive service and repair professionals, auto parts retailers, independent warehouse distributors, program groups, service chains, automotive dealers, fleet buyers, and engine builders.

AAPEX is a trade-only event and is closed to the general public. AAPEX is co-owned by the Auto Care Association and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), the light vehicle aftermarket division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA).
